Detached house
in Panorama, Thessaloniki
The house is situated in Panorama of Thessaloniki, offering spectacular views of the Thermaikos Gulf and the city. The owners desired a ground-floor residence with a swimming pool, optimising the view of both the sea and the forest. This requirement informed the design of the family's primary residence.
The design of the building takes advantage of the terrain and the orientation of the plot. The view towards the Thermaikos Gulf and the city of Thessaloniki, the contact with a forest section, the linear plot, as well as the proximity to a busy road axis of the city, led to the composition of an extroverted development of the building towards the view and the creation of an intense zoning, leading to the outdoor space, namely the terrace with the swimming pool, where all the privacy is developed, protected from the neighboring buildings.
The exterior facades of the house have limited openings, with the exception of the south-western facades, which have large continuous glazing that unify the interior with the exterior and allow unobstructed views.
