Café Bar

Thessaloniki

The team of Minas Kosmidis Architects took on the design project of a bar in the heart of the city of Thessaloniki. Inspired by the French quarter of Le Marais, the space gives off a European atmosphere, balancing between contemporary and classic aesthetics.

The architectural composition of the façade creates a clean but expressive geometry. A combination of vertical ribbings, marble and metal details is chosen to bestow a new character to the building. The windows of the bar are shaped with marble counters, that connect the exterior with the interior. Upon entering, materiality becomes the narrative. The assortment of marbles enhance the space, providing timelessness and balancing with the earth tones.

Meanwhile, the golden details of the fixtures and the lights introduce a subtle touch of shine, highlighting the overall composition. The ceiling stands out with its shape, combining plaster decorative elements with wallpaper featuring botanical motifs.
