Adia Aluma Athens
Light, illusion, transformation.
In the vibrant heart of Athens, where memory and modernity collide, Elastic Architects reimagines a dormant office building from the 1960s into a dynamic new hospitality landmark. Adia Aluma Athens, now part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, emerges at the intersection of Lycourgou and Socratous streets, an architectural rebirth housed within the dense historic grid of the city.
Originally designed with the rigour of modernist geometry—glass, metal, and stone—this structure becomes the canvas for a design story inspired by the Lycurgus Cup, a rare 4th-century Roman artifact that changes color depending on light and angle. The concept of illusion, of architecture that transforms with perception, underpins the entire design philosophy. Mirrors, perforated metal, ambient lighting, and warm mineral hues come together to create a spatial narrative that shifts as guests move through it.
