Athens Capital Suites
MGallery Collection
The Αthens Capital Hotel Hotel - MGallery Collection Annex, is reshaping heritage listed residential spaces into hospitality suites. The once residential building situated at 7-9 Zalokosta str. was constructed by architect Adrianos Lazarimos in 1938, commissioned by N.A.T., the Greek Naval Retirement Fund.
The transformation of residential spaces into hospitality suites marks a significant milestone in architectural history. Notably, in the current context, hospitality design is increasingly shifting towards a ‘coming-home’ ambiance rather than a traditional commercial guest room.
This specific Hotel Conversion delves into the essence of the listed building. Consequently, the design concept is guided by the evolution during the pivotal transitional period from the Athenian mid-war urban architectural style to the Bauhaus movement, preceding the outbreak of World War II.
