Alkyna Lifestyle Beach Resort by Ella Resorts, nestled on the steep and lush hillside of Agios Gordios in Corfu, represents an architectural intervention that redefines hospitality as a dialogue with the landscape, materiality, and atmosphere of the place. With the dramatic rock formation as a backdrop and sweeping views over the Ionian Sea, AMK Architecture & Design undertook the radical transformation and unification of disparate, preexisting volumes from earlier development phases into a cohesive and discreet whole.

The architectural composition integrates seamlessly into the terrain, using materials inspired by the natural context-stone, earth-colored plaster, wood, and metal details. Inside, the design balances refined simplicity with a timeless Mediterranean sensibility, evoking the local character through tactile materials and regional color references. A palette of soil, stone, and Corfu’s distinctive deep reds create a strong sense of place and identity.

The creation of a sculptural, emblematic entrance at the reception building introduces guests to the Alkyna narrative. The common areas are defined by an ambiance of calm and effortless sophistication, shaped by organic forms and framed by large openings that capture the mesmerizing sea views.
