Iodio

Kolonaki

Iodio restaurant is located in Kolonaki, a high-end neighbourhood in the center of Athens. The aim was to create a luxury yet welcoming space, while the cuisine, guided by a two-star Michelin chef, would focus on seafood.

The design concept was inspired by the memory of spear fishermen bringing their fresh catches to the shore and those who taught how to collect and eat oysters and sea urchins directly from the rocks. White, blue, and brown shades, a unique rough piece of marble resembling a coral reef, the rattan roof, and rough textures all serve as references to this experience at the boundary of land and sea.

A clearly defined zone in a dark blue color similar to that of the Aegean Sea includes two curved sofas, the staircase and part of the bar. The walls around the sofas follow the curved shape as a reference to Cycladic forms.
