In a small site in Kifissia with high depth ratios, relatively narrow width and small coverage factor, the architects are invited to design a house with an outdoor pool. The distribution of functions is done in zones and in four different levels from the groundfloor level and up. On the groundfloor level is placed an indoor parking slot, the main entrance to the building and one bedroom with enlarged space, under the guidelines of an independent studio, with living room and bathroom.
On the second level were designed two bedrooms with their private bathrooms as well as storage rooms on the welcome area of the floor. On the third level the visitor, by using the elevator or the staircase, has a direct access to the main living areas and its strictly defined functions such as the living room, the everyday dining room and the family kitchen. A major centre of “gravity” inside this open space is the fireplace which is visible by almost every spot of the third floor.
In the everyday life area there is an indoor atrium of communication with the attic, which is under an domed roof. The attic provides the possibility of access to the gardened roof and in the same time hosts a study space, with multiple functions of isolation, meditation and hosting.
