AKS Hinitsa Bay Hotel, Porto Heli

Hinitsa Bay Hotel was built in the early 1970s and is located in Porto Heli, Peloponnese.

It is right on the waterfront on a white sandy beach, and overlooks the islet Hinitsa where its name is derived. It is a four star hotel of 220 rooms.

AKS Hotels bought the property in 2000 and undertook a minor refurbishment. In 2015 3SK Stylianidis Architects were commissioned to revisit the external envelope of the building and some minor internal elements.

The hotel's elevation went under a major reconstruction, structural elements were reinforced, floor finishes were replaced, and glass balustrades were introduced on the balconies such that an uninterrupted view towards the sea was achieved from well within the bedroom.

The room’s entrance corridors on each floor were fully revamped, whilst the rooms were only redecorated –painting of walls, changing of fabrics, and other decorative items were introduced for the rooms general improvement.

The bathrooms underwent only a small refurbishment as they were already in a good condition.

The communal areas underwent minor alterations, glass balustrades were used to take advantage of the sea view and pergolas were located to allow for better shading for the hotel guests.
