Residential complex in Island of Rhodes, CHADZIS Architects & Associate Engineers

This coastal residential complex is located close to the area known Great Land, in Rhodes.

The central idea of the two systems (white - black)that intertwined in spiral provisions produce the volume of the house, creating gaps, complete the necessary shadings and mainly shape theviews in such an intense coastal environment and is developed on four levels. In the basement are the auxiliary rooms of the house; on theground floor are the living room, the Dining Room and kitchen, on the first floor there are two children's bedroom with separate bathroom, whilethe attic is a bedroom with parents in suite bathroom. The ground floor is at the level of the courtyard in full morphological and functional continuity. The courtyard is developed in two parts, functionaland structural.

The first part relates to ancillary uses (parking and traffic areas of the car) and the second concerns the living area with pergolaand pool. The asymmetric shape Pool C consists of two sections. The first is elongated to swimming and the other has a square shape in orderto play. Access to the beach is through the islands of the pool and the corridor below. To shape the garden we have used Mediterranean plantsthat require little watering and are resistant to the seaside environment.
