JK Two
Apokoronas
Crete
Located in the natural wild landscape, the long form building with the monumental character integrates through contrast, appears as unity through fragmentation and gets familiar through repetition. The white metal columns and the white marble rock-dressing reflects the Cretan sun reviling the more brutal contrast of sun and shadow.
The villa consists of 5 independent rooms, each with its own external access that offers the autonomy of a hotel. A constant feeling of luxury living into nature is achieved by the big glass walls and the main movements that are open or semi open.
The main movement axes are organized parallel to the view on the upper level while a perpendicular corridor at the lower level frames the view of the Aegean Sea. The relation of this building to the ground is unique. The 2 levels are in constant dialogue with the landscape.
