Being a reader of  YLI & KTIRIO is a privilege

Welcome to our 100th issue. This exclusive issue guarantees quality and consistency in information.

I am not sure whether the expression ‘reset the counter and off we go’ befits our purpose but most certainly in an era marked by economic dysfunction, cultural inertia and social blows, the only objective we should fix in Greece is ‘’getting together’’, working hard and disentangling ourselves from obsolete mindsets.

The magazine YLI & KTIRIO has been always advocating that the State should increasingly employ architecture as a tool for a modern and functional society.

YLI & KTIRIO has proved throughout its journey, marked by good times and hard times that it chooses to showcase first and foremost, the culture of daily life.  What turned YLI & KTIRIO into a discernible version are not the presentations of glamorous buildings of public and private sector but the noble feeling of scrupulousness, an ideological definition. The supremacy of YLI & KTIRIO does not only rest in its resistance to publish a magazine on a monthly basis (absolutely irrational for Greek standards); its supremacy is also based on its resistance vis-à-vis anything derisory  deriving from the collapse of the values produced by the system for decades.

Our reward is the appreciation by our readers, by all of our companies-customers and our associates; we have huge stock of strength and we promise to share with you the best which is yet to come in the framework of a modern magazine that formulates a view producing dialogue within the boundaries of architectural expression.

Allow me to share with you some more personal thoughts. In the last six years, there were moments when I lost my courage, my laughter, my faith; in the next moment, as a divine gift, laughter, relief and good feelings resumed. This is what happens to all of us, not only myself, when we lose a precious person, as I lost my brother Andreas with no reason, before he could even live his dream. Andreas had studied film studies in Paris, he used to write beautiful, mature poetry and he was one of those charismatic people who lived to the full important concepts in live such as, life, death, bliss, sorrow, mother, hope…

I know well that whatever was left unspent here, it ‘’returns’’ each time I am experiencing joy after pain. This is why I feel it is my duty to be grateful to God.

I dedicate this entire issue to my beloved brother Andreas…. dédié à mon cher frère Andrea.

I warmly thank you for your confidence in us!
