Nea Erithrea House Interior Design, Achilles Kalogridis architecture

Interior design for the living spaces of a new 3-storey family house in Nea Erithrea, in the northern suburbs of Athens, with a minimalist approach based on simplicity and substantial, clean lines. The house belongs to a complex of detached houses, each one with its own private entrance and yard.

Emphasis was given to the forms and layout of fixed bespoke elements, featuring a restricted pallet of natural materials and tones, highlighted through the careful use of artificial lighting. The fireplace, centrally located, is the main feature and the heart of everyday life in the residence. A low bench covered in petra serena stone runs the whole length of the fireplace wall, emphasizing horizontality while providing space to relax near the fire.

Integrated concealed lighting defines a clear border between the wall and the bench. Selected design items, pieces of contemporary furniture and works of art complete the fluid space adding a feeling of comfort and intimacy.
