Mykonos Theoxenia

A modern, hotel accommodation, with absolute respect for its cultural heritage.

The renovation of the listed hotel complex Mykonos Τheoxenia, member of Design Hotels, was based on and influenced by the architecture of the historic Greek architect Aris Konstantinidis, who designed and constructed the hotel in the early 1960s. The aim of the architectural study is the aesthetic restoration of the hotel to its main design principles, through architectural solutions that will meet the functional needs of a modern, hotel accommodation, with absolute respect for its cultural heritage.

Maintaining the original concept of the architect, the new Mykonos Τheoxenia, stays away from the design echoes of the classic style, incorporating simple, abstract and clean lines, which are in line with the Cycladic architecture. The elongation of the user’s stay outdoors but also the use of the building as a shell of protection from the natural elements were structural axes in the design process.
