Opsis Villas
Zakynthos
The study concerns the construction of two tourist residences on a green hillside by the sea. The architectural challenge for this project was to adjust the buildings to the steep slope of the terrain, to ensure the maximum possible sense of privacy between them and most importantly to achieve visual contact at every point of the buildings with the sea.
Specifically, the architectural design of the buildings, based on these three main points, gives each residence its own unique characteristics in terms of the internal layout of the spaces, while at the same time the exterior form of the buildings follows a uniform architectural approach so that each building complements the other aesthetically. Both residences can be reached from the highest point of the plot.
In residence A, the living rooms and the swimming pool are placed on the ground floor (lower level) and the bedrooms on the first floor (upper level), while in residence B, vice versa, the living rooms with the swimming pool and the barbecue are placed on the upper level of the floor and the bedrooms on the lower level. This reverse layout of the rooms between the two residences plays an important role in giving the residences different characteristics from each other, such as different directions to the view, ensuring privacy between them and, most importantly, different architectural living experiences.
